Our online curriculum - Student using our program have 24/7 access to our online materials, which are aligned with California content standards and cover all the core math disciplines for grades 8 through 12. Our curriculum includes assessment tests, quizzes, and lessons. Quizzes are highly interactive and provide immediate feedback, and lessons are like an online textbook loaded with information to help the student improve his or her math skills. Because students work independently with our adaptive and interactive web-based content, they can study wherever and whenever they have access to a web-enabled computer. Our tutors - Our program includes frequent communication with a live tutor who answers questions and helps the student make progress throughout the program. Individual tutors are assigned to each student, and students can participate in live online chat sessions with a 1:1 ratio to ask questions. Every time a student answers a question or reads a lesson, we collect this information and obtain a detailed record of how the students answers each question. With this information, tutors are able to quickly ascertain each student's strengths and weaknesses and determine how the student should proceed to most improve his or her math skills. Assessing students' needs and tailoring their learning plans is a continual process as our tutors are constantly monitoring and analyzing the students' study data.

Our technology - In addition to a thorough math curriculum and conscientious tutors, we offer students an engaging online interface that has been tried and refined over the past 3 years while servicing over 10,000 students. Students using XLPrep.com's math program have access to some of the most sophisticated educational software currently available. The interactivity and adaptivity of our software is key in helping students quickly reach new heights with their math skills. Our open door policy - Parents and teachers can view a student's results and progress at any time using our tracking tool. We want our program to be transparent so that parents and teachers know how much time the student is spending on our program, the types of problems and lessons the student is working on, and how well the student is doing. Teachers and parents can become very involved in monitoring the student and suggesting changes to the student's plan, or they can let our tutors take the lead. Our tutors are very flexible and let parents and teachers become as involved as they want to be.

How it works
We create an account - To access XLPrep.com, each student is given an account with a username and password. When the student signs on, he or she is immediately taken to a personalized homepage. On this homepage, the student can view his or her scores on assessment tests, quiz results, and lessons they have read.

We develop a learning plan - Each student's curriculum is tailored to his or her academic needs. Using results from our diagnostic tests, we determine in consultation with the LEA, parent, and student which math subjects the student should focus on and the difficulty level.

The student begins studying - Once the curriculum has been determined, the student works on one math subject at a time with our software at his or her own pace in the quiz and lesson modes. In lesson mode, the student reads about math concepts and how to approach various types of math problems. In quiz mode, the student practices and hones his or her math skills. Once the student has completed all the quiz questions for a subject, he or she takes a post diagnostic test. If improvement is seen in the student's math skills, the student moves onto the next math subject and follows the same process. If not, the student works on a study plan developed by the tutor for reviewing concepts and improving skills. Then the student retakes the post test.

The student and tutor work together - Throughout the program, the student is constantly in contact with his or her tutor. The tutor answers questions, reviews the student’s scores, and makes sure the student is working through the content at a good pace. The tutor contacts the student through email at least once per week. The tutor and student can contact each other at any time through email and communicate through live chat sessions.
